Do you enjoy working with children ?
We are looking for young people for regular work experience opportunities in our Saturday Music Classes working with children from the ages of 3 years up to 11 years. Would suit a 4th, 5th or 6th year pupil or college/university student or an older adult looking to gain experience.
We will also have opportunities for work experience in our Summer Holiday Clubs, running during the holidays during July and August.
Must be enthusiastic and enjoy music. Ability to play an instrument would be an advantage, but not necessary. If you are age 16 years or over, a PVG will be required.
Contact Diane on 07896689816 if you are interested or know a young person who would be interested.

Due to demand, we are now starting keyboard classes for children on a Saturday and also mid week. For younger children aged 4- 6 years, we also have a piano club, which will be a fun and gentle introduction to learning to play piano. Please call me on 07896689816 or email me for times and prices. Paisley 2021 Renfrewshire Community Gospel Choir Open Rehearsal

Come along this Sunday 21st February to Paisley Arts Centre for an open rehearsal for our new Community Gospel Choir between 12.30pm and 3pm. All are welcome to come along, either to  join in or just to watch. We are working hard to support the Paisley 2021 Bid for the City of Culture and have lots of events lined up over the next year. We are still taking new members so speak to us there if you are interested. The choir is fun and there are no auditions. As well as some traditional Gospel songs, we are rehearsing a song from Hairspray and hoping to start a Nina Simone song soon. Phone me on 07896689816 to find out more.

The Renfrewshire Community Gospel Choir

The Renfrewshire Community Gospel Choir is the first choir of its kind in Renfrewshire. It is open to all with no auditions. If anyone enjoys singing, then they are welcome to come along , whether it’s for fun or to meet new friends or to improve their vocal skills or learn how to sing harmonies.

The idea came from Diane and her previous involvement with school choirs and also singing in choirs herself. After the launch of her music school last year, she decided to approach the Association of  African Communities in Paisley. As a result, a partnership was formed. Renfrewshire Council are fully supportive of the initiative and Diane was delighted when funding for start-up costs was awarded. Both Diane and Samuel of the African Communities are enthusiastic in their desire to support the Paisley 2021 Bid for City of Culture. They hope that the choir will play a big part in the community in the lead up to this.

The aim of the choir is to bring communities together, working together for the good of the Renfrewshire Community.

The choir meets every Friday at 7pm in the Diane Mitchell Music School, Brick Lane Studios, 7-9 Weir Street, Paisley PA3 4DW. Come along and find out more. New members are always welcome, so pop along or call  me on 07896689816 to register or find out more. We already have two gigs in the pipeline and will be aiming for a big charity concert in the Autumn.

Initially, the choir is free, although there will eventually need to be an nominal charge.
