Paisley Music Classes for children of all ages!
Children aged 3-5 years love music and love to explore instruments and sound. These classes teach young children about beat, rhythm and pitch using puppets, percussion and singing games. They learn how to keep a beat, clap rhythms and even start to read music. They get a head start in music, so that learning an instrument becomes natural to them.
Classes on a Saturday are at 12.30pm.
Junior Musicianship Class
For young children aged 5-9 years and 4-7 years, we run Musicianship Classes. The classes follow the principles of Kodaly and increase the child’s musicality and overall musicianship. They learn more about the beat, rhythm and pitch in a fun way, through games and percussion, becoming more confident and musical in their approach to playing an instrument. They eventually learn to sight sing by learning sol fa.Children have fun whilst learning. They also get a chance to try out a variety of musical instruments including piano. drums, ukulele and guitar.
Classes on a Saturday are at 10am.
Theory and Musicianship Class
Theory can be fun! These classes are for children aged 7-11 years and teach Grade 1, 2 and 3 Associated Board theory in a fun way.
Classes are on a Saturday.
Grade 1- 1.30pm
Grade 1/2 – 11am
Grade 3- 11am
This class is for children of Primary School age who have additional support needs.. It is a combination of singing, playing instruments and sensory activities. Using Kodaly philosophy through music, we can help with social and emotional development, confidence and resilience, in a safe environment.
Class is on a Saturday at 12.10pm
We have 2 groups, 5-8years and 7-13 years for children who enjoy singing and learning to play the ukulele. They sing and play songs from the Musicals, Disney, Pop etc…and have great fun.
A class for children aged 4-5 years, which teaches music skills focused more on the piano and linked to numeracy and literacy.
For older children and adults, we offer group theory classes. These are particularly useful for those wishing to pass their Grade 5 Theory Exam, which is necessary before they can progress to Grade 6 and above in Associated Board of Music Exams.
